How do I create a group?

To create a group all you have to do is:

1. Go to the network's Groups tab.

2. Click the link at the top right of the page to "Create a Group" on that network.

3. Choose a group name, image and web address. If you want your group image to keep its proportions and not look fuzzy (pixelated) once you upload it, make sure to upload a square image that is at least 171 pixels x 171 pixels in size.

4. Write a short description of that group for the group's page—information other network members will see when browsing groups.

5. Choose the features you want your group to have (Comments, Discussion Forum, Text Box, RSS Reader)

6. Make sure to select the correct privacy option for your group, because once a group is created you can't change the privacy setting.

7. Decide if members should be able to send messages to the entire group.

8. Finally, click "Create Group" and start inviting network members to your group

How do I edit my group name, logo, or description?

If you want to edit a group you created, go to that group's page. Here you can edit the group's text box, adding text, videos, photos or widgets to customize your group page. To edit the group's features, in the Admin Options box you'll find the "Edit Group" link. You can change the name, description and logo of your group, as well as edit information about your external website. You cannot edit the group's network web address.

How do I resend invitations to my group?

If you are the group creator or a group administrator, you can resend invitations that have been sent out for your group.

1. Sign in to the network.

2. Go to your group's page and click "Manage Group Members" in the Admin Options box on the right.

3. Click on the Invited tab.

4. Check the boxes next to the people you'd like invite to your group again, then click the "Resend Invitation" button.

5. Click "Done" to go back to your group page.

How can I add group administrators to a group I created?

If you are the group creator, you can add group administrators to help you manage the group. Group administrators will have the same rights as the group creator, except they will not be able to delete the group.

1. Sign in to the network.

2. Go to your group's page and click "Manage Group Members" in the Admin Options box on the right.

3. You'll be taken to the Members page, where you can easily add and delete administrators from your group.

4. Check the box next to a person's name and choose the desired action from the buttons at the top of the list.

You can "Promote to Administrator," "Demote from Administrator," or "Ban from Group" any member of your group.

Can I create a private group?

Absolutely. Groups can be public (any member of the network can see the group, join the group and post content) or private (only invited network members can join the group and post content). This option is chosen during the setup process when you create your group. If your group is private, non-members will be able to see basic group information — like the group's name and image, the number of members and date of latest activity but they will not be able to see who is a member of the group or any of the content that has been added.

Can I send messages to my group's members?

The group creator controls whether a member can send a broadcast message to the entire group. If this feature is turned on, you can send a message to the entire group by going to the group's page and clicking "Send Message to Group." If this feature is not turned on, you will not see this link.

How can I add an RSS feed to my group page?

The group creator can choose to include an "RSS Reader" to display an RSS feed right on the group page! Just click the "RSS Reader" checkbox under "Features" when you create the group. You can then add an RSS feed by clicking the "Edit" button in the corner of the RSS box.

What is the web address of my group? Can I change it?

The web address of your group is the specific website where your group's page can be found. The default web address of any group is something like this: spreadmusic.com/groups/yourgroupname. You can choose a different web address when you create the group if you want to use something shorter than the group name. However, once the group is created, you will not be able to edit the web address.
