How can I add or upload videos?

1. Sign in.

2. Go to the Videos section.

3. Click the "Add Videos" link in the upper right corner.

4. By default, you'll be able to use the bulk uploader to add up to 30 movies at a time to the network. The first time you use the uploader, you'll see a pop-up window that says "This applet was signed by Ning Inc and authenticated by VeriSign Inc. Do you trust this certificate?" Click the "Trust" button to proceed.

5. In the left pane, find the videos on your computer. To upload them, double click on a video or drag and drop a video or a whole folder to the right pane titled "Videos to Upload."

6. You can drag and drop the videos within the right preview pane to re-order them. To remove videos, you can drag and drop them outside of the preview pane or highlight them and press the "Delete" key.

7. Once you're ready to upload, click the "Next" button.

8. Add information about the videos and select who will be able to view the videos. To apply the same information to all of the videos in the batch, fill out the top portion under "Edit Information for All Videos." Then click the button to "Apply this info to the videos below." You can individually override this information by filling out individual video information below the batch edit. If you're experiencing issues with the bulk uploader, you can always use the simple uploader by clicking the link to "Return to our simple uploader" at the bottom of the "Add Videos" page.

Can I add videos from YouTube, Google Video or another site?

Yes! You can add videos by using the "embed" code from YouTube, Google Video, Yahoo Video or any other popular video sharing site.

First you will want to copy the HTML "embed" code from the video you want to post. You can usually find this code by looking for the word "Embed" or "Share" in the video player or next to it. On YouTube, for example, the embed code looks like this: YouTube Embed Code Copy the HTML code. Next, sign in to your network on Ning and go to the Videos tab.

Click the "Add Videos" link. Find the section titled "Add videos from YouTube or Google." Click the "Add Video" link there and you will land on this screen: Paste the video's HTML code into the field provided, click "Add Video" and it will be added to the network! Right now, there isn't an easy way to get a continuous feed of videos or add videos in bulk from YouTube or other services, but you can use this form multiple times.

What is the video details page?

In the videos section, clicking on the thumbnail of a video will take you to the video detail page, where you can rate the video, add it to your favorites, get the embed code for it, share the video by sending an email and see when it was uploaded. Next to your video you will also see a list of recent or related videos. If you are a member of the network and signed in, you can also add a comment about the video on the comment wall.

How do I share a video?

It's easy to share videos you like. Click the "Share" link below the video you want to share: If you are not a member of the network or not signed in, you will have the option to share a link to the video via email, IM, etc. by copying and pasting the URL of the video. If you are a member and signed in to the network, you will have additional options to send the photo to your friends on Ning or to people in your email address book.

How do I keep track of all the videos or photos I like?

You can mark any video or photo as one of your favorites if you really love it and want to be able to locate it in the future. Click the "Add to Favorites" link underneath the photo or video. To view videos you have selected as your favorites on a network, click the Videos tab and follow the "My Favorites" link at the top of the page. To view your favorite photos on a network, click the Photos tab and follow the "My Favorites" link at the top of the page.

How do I send in videos by phone or email?

When you join Spreadmusic.com, a unique email address is assigned to your profile on that network. You can email videos, one at a time, to this email address and they will be added to your account on the network. Here's how you find the address!

1. Sign in to the network.

2. Click on the “Settings” link in the right hand column of the page.

3. Your unique email address appears the bottom of the page. You can send in one video per email. The subject of the email becomes the title of the video and the body becomes the description.
